A “Marauder’s Map for AirPods” — a spatial-audio layer for the physical world, delivered through Bluetooth headphones. It descends from Foursquare’s Marsbot and “Marsbot for AirPods”: ambient, location-aware audio that tells you what’s around you without ever looking at a screen.

Co-founded with Naveen Selvadurai in 2009; CEO through 2016, then Executive Chairman, and today Co-Chair. One of the world’s leading location-technology platforms — the check-ins of Swarm, city discovery, and the location data behind thousands of other apps.

Building the biggest football club on the planet — community football organized through an app, wherever people already play.

A semi-professional soccer club built from scratch in New York’s Hudson Valley, playing in the 4th division of the US Soccer Pyramid — a grassroots, bottom-up experiment in American soccer.

One of the earliest “big urban games” — Pac-Man played across the streets of Manhattan with real people, mobile phones, and a live map. Built at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.

Co-founded with Alex Rainert at NYU: one of the first location-based mobile social services in the US. Acquired by Google in 2005, and wound down around 2007 — but its DNA runs straight into Foursquare.
